Foundations: Gentle First Steps After Losing Your Person
A faith‑centered program to help widows move from “barely surviving the day” to having simple routines, support, and a next step that doesn’t feel overwhelming.
This is for you if you...
- Wake up dreading another day of widowhood
- Feel like a hollow shell of the person you used to be
- Are exhausted by decisions, paperwork, and “being strong” for everyone else
- Have tried counseling, GriefShare, books, or podcasts and still feel stuck or alone
Foundations is for widows and widowers (typically in their 30s – 70s) in the first months and years after loss who know they can’t stay where they are, but don’t feel ready for a big, intensive program yet.

R.I.S.E. Beyond Grief to a Life you Love
Where Foundations Fits in the Four Seasons of Grief:
Step 1: Heal your Heart with Grief Recovery Method®
Step 2: Escape Survival Mode with the Chaos to Calm Blueprint.
Through my own journey and coaching hundreds of widows, I mapped out Four Seasons of Grief: Rawness, Isolation, Self‑Discovery, and Empowerment.
-
In Rawness, everything feels like a tornado hit. Your nervous system is on fire and you’re in survival mode.
-
In Isolation, the dust settles and you realize how alone you feel. Time is passing, but nothing is really changing.
Foundations is designed specifically for these first two seasons.
Its job is simple:
-
Help you breathe again,
-
Give you basic structure and safety, and
-
Prepare you for deeper rebuilding work when you’re ready.

If Brave Widow Academy isn’t the right fit, I'll still point you to the best support for where you are right now.

How Foundations Is Different from Counseling or Grief Groups
- Not just more talking about pain. We honor your grief, and we also give you concrete, doable steps for the next 7 days.
- Designed only for widows (and widowers). You don’t have to explain why the empty bed, the paperwork, or the silence under your roof hurts so much.
- Faith‑based but not “just pray more.” We’ll pray together and talk honestly about how hard this is, without spiritual clichés or pressure to “move on.”
- A clear next step. When you complete Foundations, you’ll know exactly whether you’re ready for Academy, 1‑1 coaching, or a different pace.
